Step 1: Application Submission

Students are advised to submit their application at least two months before the course commencement date.
Submit your completed MAGES Application Form together with the following supporting documents to your Local Agent/MAGES Programme Consultant. These documents are:
1. A photocopy of the Applicant’s passport particulars page
2. Photocopy of Applicant’s Birth Certificate (notarized and translated)
3. Highest Education Qualification certificates (notarized & translated)
4. Highest Education Qualification transcripts (notarized & translated)
5. One passport sized photo in hard copy or JPEG format
6. Photocopy of documentary proof of financial ability in the form of bank statements/fixed deposit accounts/savings accounts
Prospective students should be aware of the EduTrust certification scheme, Fee Protection Scheme (FPS) and Terms & Conditions of the Refund and Transfer policies as contained in the Standard PEI-Student contract. 

Step 2: Processing of Student Application

If your application is admissible, you will receive an official “Letter of Offer” issued by MAGES Institute of Excellence via air mail/fax/email. Please send your Application Fees of SGD 250(non-refundable) to MAGES Institute of Excellence
Payment for Application Fees can be made via the following methods:

• Cash             
• Cheque
• Bank Draft
• Telegraphic Transfer

Step 3: Student Pass Application

In accordance with SINGAPORE Immigration Act, any foreigner who is not a Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident, and wishes to pursue full-time studies at MAGES Institute of Excellence, is required to apply for a Student’s Pass.  The processing time for Student Pass application is about minimum of 4 weeks upon receipt of the application by ICA
MAGES Institute of Excellence will apply for the Student Pass with Immigration and Check Points Authority of Singapore on your behalf after receiving your signed Student Contract and Letter of Acceptance.

In order to receive your student pass approval on time, please send us the following documents before lodgment of your student pass application:
• 1 set of completed eForm 16 and eForm 36
• 2 recent passport sized photographs with white background (Size: 35mm x 43mm)
• 1 clear copy of your Passport ( with at least 6 month’s validity )
• Translated and certified copy of your Birth Certificate 
• Translated and certified copies of your Academic Transcripts and Certificates
• MAGES Institute of Excellence’s Letter of Acceptance

Students from visa required countries need to provide the following additional documents: 
(1) Documentary proof of financial ability (showing the total amount of more than SG$30,000) in the form of financial statements like fixed deposit statements/savings account statements/bank statements.
(2) Supporting documents such as pay slips indicating your parents’ monthly income (as stated on Form V36, Part F).

Additional Documents are required If one of your parents/step-parents is a Singapore Citizen / Singapore Permanent Resident:
• Copy of the your parent’s / step-parents Official Marriage Certificate / Divorce Certificate and Custody Paper (Original & Photocopied)
• Parent’s/step-parents highest education certificate
• Parent’s/step-parents Letter of Employment (letter should state the employment commencement date, designation, and salary per month) or a copy of Business Registration Certificate (an Instant Computer Printout is acceptable) if your parent/step-parents is self-employed. These documents should not be issued more than 1 month ago
• Parent’s/step-parents monthly CPF contribution for the past 12 months
• Parent’s/step-parents Income Tax Assessment Notices for the past 3 years

• Original certified copy and photocopies of applicant’s birth certificate
• Original certified copy and photocopies of highest academic educational certificate
• Original certified copy and photocopies of result transcripts
• 4 month RMB 150,0000 fixed Deposit.*

* All notarized certificates must be issued by the Local Chinese Notary Public Office, certified by the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, PRC as well as the Singapore Embassy/Consulate-General in China.

Instructions: 
1. * Certificates must be translated and notarized in English language if medium of language is other than English.
2. Testimonial Letter from School or college should be given
3.Statement of Purpose should be provided
4. All Forms must be signed by the students themselves
5. Dates MUST be consistent across All Documents
6. If there is any gap between studies and work, needs to give gap certificate
7. Certificates other than mentioned in the above checklist will be asked from the candidate subject to ICA requirements.

Step 4: Processing of Student Pass

Applicants will be notified if MAGES receives the applicant’s In Principle Approval Letter from ICA.
MAGES will inform applicants to sign the Standard PEI-Student Contract.  Upon application all students are required to enter into a PEI-Student Contract that is legally binding between MAGES Institute of Excellence and the Student.

The contract covers the following areas: 
Section 1 – Course Information and Fees.
Section 2 – Refund Policy
Section 3 – Fee Protection Scheme (FPS)
Section 4 – Medical Insurance Scheme
Section 5 – 11: These sections contain additional information to guide you on how to apply for a Student’s Pass, what to expect when your PEI changes ownership/management, and other relevant matters.
Please read the content of the contract carefully before signing. Keep one copy of the contract for your retention and please provide us with one copy.

Step 5: Complete & Sign Escrow Confirmation Form 

All schools in Singapore taking in students are required by the Council for Private Education (CPE) to protect the course fees of students. MAGES Institute of Excellence has opened an Escrow account with HSBC to protect the course fees of our students. We will advise the applicant on how to pay the course fees once we have opened their Escrow Account. Please complete the Escrow Confirmation Form so we can open the applicants’ Escrow Account. Please also fill in the bank account details of the account which you would like any refunds due to the applicant to be refunded to. Please sign the back of the Escrow Confirmation Form, a guardians signature will also be required if the applicant is below 18 years of age.
All documents: The MAGES Application Form; The PEI-Student Contract and the Escrow Confirmation Form must be signed by the applicant (and the applicant’s Guardian if under 18 years of age) and submitted to MAGES Institute of Excellence at least six weeks prior to the course start date to allow for adequate time if the student requires a Student Pass to study in Singapore. Please ensure that all the documents are read carefully, the required information is filled in, and all documents are signed and returned to us with the non-refundable student Registration Fee.

Step 6: MAGES Institute of Excellence receives application & issues Letter of Offer and Confirmation upon confirmation of placement. 

Once we have received the registration fee and received the applicants’ documents we will check that the application documents have been completed correctly. If the documents are in order we will send the applicant a Letter of Confirmation confirming that we have submitted the Student Pass application to ICA and opened an Escrow Account with HSBC on the student’s behalf so course fees can be paid. Please note that ICA takes 4-6 weeks to process Student Pass applications.

Step 7: Student receives Letter of Approval with course fee payment instructions 

We will send the student a Letter of Approval by email and registered post once their Student Pass has In Principal Approval status with ICA. The Letter of Approval is valid only for 2 months from the date of issue. The student must pay the course fee into the Escrow Account set up on their behalf by MAGES Institute of Excellence before collecting their Student Pass.
We advise that the student arrives at least 10 days in Singapore before their course commencement date as ICA requires Student Passes to be collected by E-Appointment only.

For payment of fees, please remit your fees to the following bank accounts:

       Course  Fees (except Registration fees & GST) to ESCROW Account

• Note: The most preferred mode of payment collection shall be by cheque. The Course Fees can also be collected over the counter in bank draft; or via Telegraphic Transfer DIRECT to the MAGES account.
• Please do not remit any payment to the Escrow account before the Student Contract being signed and Payment Voucher being issued.

Step 8: Go for Medical Examination (if required by ICA) 

The student will have to bear the cost of the medical checkup at his/her own expense. The standard charge in the market is currently around $50. Once the medical report is ready for collection the students can then proceed to collect their medical record and return to the school.

Step 9: Pay your Security Deposit and collect Student Pass at ICA 

On receiving their Medical Record (if required), signing a copy of their ICA Application Forms confirming their accuracy and presenting evidence of paying their course fees to the school, the student can proceed to collect their student pass at ICA according to the date and time of the E Appointment.
On the date of the appointment, the student should proceed to the Self-Service Ticketing Kiosk 3 located at Visitor Services Centre (4th Storey), ICA Building to obtain a queue ticket. Applicants are advised to be punctual for their appointments. At ICA, the student will have to pay the following fees:

a. Processing Fee 
A processing fee of $30 is required for every application submitted to ICA. The fee is non-refundable regardless of the outcome of the application or if application is withdrawn after submission. For submission via Solar, please make payment by credit/debit card or internet banking.

b. Issuance Fee 
A $60 issuance fee for every student’s pass issued and a further $30 multiple-entry visa fee for visa required nationals, where applicable. The fee is payable when the successful applicant completes the formality to collect the Student’s Pass.

c. Security Deposit 
The student will also need to pay a security deposit to ICA of $1,000/$1,500/$5,000 depending on the students’ nationality and age (see ICA website for details: www.ica.gov.sg). MAGES can provide the student with a Bankers Guarantee costing $300/ $500 to cover the security deposit (depending on the student’s nationality and age) if the student requires. The In-Principle Approval (IPA) letter will be issued for the applicant to complete the formalities and collect the Student’s Pass card at ICA. The Security Deposit, if required, would be indicated in the IPA letter to the applicant.

Step 10: Pre-Departure Information 

Before leaving your country to Singapore, kindly ensure that you have done the following:

(1) Completed & Submitted
• MAGES Institute of Excellence Application Form with Supporting Documents attached
• PEI- Student Contract and Student Advisory Note
• Escrow Confirmation Form
• Return the signed MAGES Institute of Excellence Letter of Acceptance

(2) Apply & Obtained
• MAGES Student ID (Student No. will be allocated to you upon successful application)
• A valid Visa for entry into Singapore (kindly contact our friendly Student Service Administrators at[email protected] for details on visa application)
• A valid airline ticket to Singapore

(3) Ensure that you have 
• a valid passport for international travel with at least 6 months validity
• bring along all original translated and certified copies of your Academic Transcripts and Certificates
• confirmed all housing arrangements and that you have a place to stay upon arrival into Singapore (kindly contact our friendly Student Service Administrators at [email protected] if you need help in accommodation).
• bring enough Singapore currency to cover the first few weeks of your stay in Singapore on arrival.
• pack your personal belongings (clothing / toiletries / medications etc.). Most things can be purchased in Singapore though, but if you require regular medication, do get an adequate initial supply and prescription from your doctor and bring any medical documentation you have.
As Singapore is generally humid and hot throughout the year, We will advice most students to be dressed in jeans / Bermudas / T-shirts. Students may want to bring some formal clothing for formal functions/presentations.

Other Important General information for Students:

• All registration fees paid are non-refundable

• Students, agents and parents should refer to Council of Private Education website at www.cpe.gov.sg if there are any doubts or queries that they may have regarding the institute, EduTrust certification scheme or Fee Protection Scheme.

• Students are required to go for medical checkup upon arriving in Singapore. The details of the same will be provided by the Programme Consultant at MAGES.

• Students are required to make payments (S$90) for the issuance of Student Pass once the medical report is submitted to ICA.

• Student Pass holders are strictly forbidden to be engaged in any form of employment, whether paid or unpaid, unless they are on their internship which they will be issued a Training Pass.

• Students are required by ICA to maintain a class attendance of at least 90% throughout their period of study here.

• Prior to departure from Singapore, students are required to surrender their student pass for cancellation within 7 days of the date of cessation or termination of studies.

• Upon cancellation, students will be issued a social visa for 2 weeks to 1 month to settle outstanding issues before returning home.
